Make sure you have a clear floor before you watch...

A funny post I found on another site...

One of the funniest posts I have read in awhile.. The Poop Cloth I found this link on Living on Caffiene's Blog... It is a good read and even includes some lovely art work..

I survived Halloweekends @ Cedar Point

It was a good trip.. And I had a lot of fun. I got the chance to ride the Raptor and Millenium Force. And walked through the Werewolf Canyon fright zone. We walked mostly in a group of adults with a few kids who needed supervision with us.. Walking through the haunted sections was a blast. Heather Bacus was with us, and boy is she eaily scared... Amy and I got ahead of the group because they kept turning around and running. We looked back just in time to see Heather making a break for what she thought was the exit only to have someone jump out right in front of her.. Scared she turned back running to see another frightful figure running towards her. She really made the night fun... At one point she was clutching my arm in fear..

On a side note.. In the morning while waiting to get tickets.. I proved my speed in sprinting by beating all challengers.. But I bet that they aren't having a hard time walking today.. It just goes to prove that I am not a teenager anymore.

Stepping out of the swamp..

OR maybe I am now just in the Eye of the storm. Enjoying the calm before the next wall hits.. Amy has stepped up and added her midas touch.. Instead Gold, she makes everything organized. I am feeling good. We had made the necessary changes, called the people needing a call, so we are set for Saturday.. Saturday is a different story though. We might be turning people back. We have a set number of seats and that is it. The Policy is set so it will be easy to follow it. If it doesn't meet the policy then it is out. Isn't awesome how guidelines will steer you clear of problems...

Swamped

well I am swamped.. Amy and I have taken over the planning/organization for the youth's cedar point trip this weekend.. Talk about crazy.. My time at work has even been taken up by it.. We are having a total of 60 people going.. Not all from our group some people are just tagging along for the discount.. After this I am putting up a vote for no more tagging along... To make things even harder we had a misquote in the price of tickets.. And I didn't find this out until we had started collecting money.. Not to mention the trouble of getting kids to turn in their permission slips and release forms.. I am going to have to be hard and not let people who have incomplete info go on the trip. Just a little update on what I have been doing and why I haven't gotten to post lately..

LIGERS Oh my...

The new generations version of a Monty Pithon, Napoleon Dynamite, you know the genre "so stupid it is hilarious," spoke of a mythical creature the Liger. I hadn't given it a second thought, but today I saw someone in the office had an email with pictures of a liger.. So I had to find one to share with you..

alittle factage

The liger hybrid is more common than the tigon because the mating process is easier. The liger has both stripes and spots. The stripes are inherited from its tiger parent and the spots from the lion parent. Ligers are usually orangish/golden in color. However, there have been white tigers bred with lions to produce a very light golden coat on the offspring. If the hybrid offspring is a male, it will have a leonine mane, but it will not be as large and defined as a normal lion's mane. The liger gets most of its strength and size from both of its parents; this makes the liger possibly the largest cat in the world! On their hind legs, ligers stand approximately 12 feet tall. At most, ligers may weigh up to 1,000 pounds. Ligers make the sound of both a lion and a tiger, although their roar tends to sound more like a lion's roar. The Liger is the result of breeding a female Tiger to a male Lion.

Something I found online....

Do to others as you would have them do to you.

-Luke 6:31 (NRSV)
AS a church secretary, I meet many people in need. One day a homeless woman came to the church. Her family was living in their car. Her husband worked but did not make enough to support a family of four. The woman was my age, and her son was my own son's age. I thought how easily it could have been me desperately seeking help from a stranger. The only help I could offer was to send her to another church's food pantry, but her hopelessness was as evident as my helplessness.

The woman returned often just to sit and talk with me. Eventually, her visits became celebrations as she would tell me something joyous that had happened to improve her family's situation: she found a job; her husband began training at the local vocational school; they were moving into a house. It was all coming together for her and her family.

One day, as we shared a sandwich, she turned to me and said, "You gave me so much more than you can ever know. You treated me with respect and patience when I needed someone to listen. You encouraged me to have faith in God's plan, and it all worked out. Thank you."

Dear God, help us to make room in our hearts for those who need us, whether they be friend or stranger. Guide us to show your love through sharing our love. Amen.

Barbarian

Russ has a post on this topic too.. But I had to share.. Last night we watched a video in small group.. I wanted to share a little of what struck me.. The Speaker Erwin Raphael McManus compared christians, barbarian christians to Rhinos.. A rhino can run at 30 miles per hour but can only see 30 feet in front of him.. The rhino doesn't care what is at 31 feet ahead, it had just better get out of the way.. We need to be like rhinos for God. When God gives us a calling or a direction we need to run with it and not worry what might be in the way.. Work, disappointment, rejection... because the Lord will bless the work he sets before us..Det 15:10

One of the processess had a motor go bad so I will not have a sample for a while. I shouldn't be back until around 2000. Well I thought that I was going to be able to take off but I have another sample @ 1445. Hopefully it will be in..

Helped the boys start to put together Tanner's fort/swing set. But had to leave. We had just gotten the main supports up.. They have probably have got the floor done by now... But I do not think that they will finish it today.. I will keep you posted.
